Looking to be a Co Driver for someone.

I currently live in Southern CA. I want to get my CDL But I am having some problems getting into some of the company training schools from lack of work experience through out the last couple of years. I was a Project Manager with out college education, and there have been too many laid off through out the bad economy and I have not been able to find work in that career. I guess I tried to long. So I decided to give trucking a try. Is there any out there willing to train a guy with out having to go through a large company who wont hire do to lack of prior work experience. I really think this would be a career I would love. I used to love my cross country travels for work and think this is right up my alley. I hope to hear from someone.
